Mikvah / Pumpėnai, Lithuania / 2023 / Status: In Progress

We are beginning the research and design process for the adaptive reuse of a historic mikvah in the rural Lithuanian town of Pumpėniai. Originally serving the town’s Jewish community, the structure was later repurposed as a Soviet-era dairy collection site. Our goal is twofold: to honor the site’s layered history while creating an optimistic, functional community space. The specific program for the building is still being developed.
